Terms and Conditions:

Idea:

Describe your tattoo idea in full detail, and the location and approximate size on your body in the form below. Upload 1 or 2 photo’s of the location on your body where you would like to get the tattoo done.
Mike expects 100% artistic freedom on size, details and contrast of the final design. Obviously within the boundaries and theme that you both agreed on. The tattoo will be based on your idea, but with Mike’s take on it. This means that in most cases Mike will find the reference photo’s that are actually being used.
It is important to make sure that the project is a good match for Mike, he takes great pride in his work, so if he is not comfortable with the idea or he feels that he can’t execute it with a good result, the project will not be considered. Artistic freedom is most important for the best result!

Also upload any images that you would like to be used as reference to inspire the tattoo design. These images are important because they will allow Mike to properly visualize and design the tattoo. Note that we will not use or accept images of other tattoos as a reference image as Mike does not copy other artists designs.

Design:

The design will be prepared in the days before your first appointment. In most cases Mike will show you the design prior to the session, but in some cases the final design will be shown on the first day of your appointment. There is room for minor changes or improvements if desired, those will be done prior to the session. Remember Mike will not use or accept images of other tattoos as a reference image and will not copy other artists designs.

Appointment:

We are located in Den Burg on Texel, you can find the exact location of the studio in the “contact us” section. We can advice you about the traveling options and the departure times of the ferry.
The tattoo session usually starts at 10:30 and finish between 17:00 and 18:00.

Make sure you bring your government issued ID card to ensure your age. We don’t tattoo people under the age of 16 years old.

We allow clients only. We cannot permit any guests or visitors to be present during appointments.

Don’t drink alcohol the day before your session, make sure to be well-rested, and eat a meal before your appointment.

Make sure to wear comfortable clothing that helps with the tattooing process. For example if you are getting tattooed on you arm, a tank top will be helpful. If you are getting tattooed on the leg, it’s better to wear shorts. If you want to listen to your own music or watch movies on your device, make sure to bring headphones and your own charger cable.

Bring your own lunch, drinks and snacks, don’t take this lightly, it is important to prevend low blood sugar issues. The studio provides complimentary lemonade, coffee and tea.

If you are late, inform us as soon as you know. If you are more than 15 minutes late without any notification, the session will be canceled without any refund. If you do not show up for the appointment you will lose your deposit.

Pricing and Time:

The cost of each project is different from client to client. How many sessions are needed to complete your project will depend on variables such as skin type, size and detail of the tattoo, the place on the body, and your pain threshold.

Depending on the variables mentioned above we estimate:
Full sleeve – between 7 and 9 sessions.
Full back – between 7 and 12 sessions.
Full chest – about 4 or 5 sessions.
Full leg – between 8 and 12 sessions.
Keep in mind this is and estimated example, just to give you an idea. As this is an artistic project, there is no way to guarantee the exact amount of sessions it will take upfront. Every project and person is unique.

Back-to-back sessions are possible up to 3 days in a row. Mike does not work more than 3 sessions back-to-back to ensure a safe healing process.

Our standard session is around 6 hours at the rate of €900,- per session.

Smaller tattoos require the minimum of €250,- this will cover the first 1,5 hours of work. If the tattoo requires time beyond that, each additional hour will be billed at €150,- per hour.

Mike usually has a few months waiting time. If you are not willing to wait, we can book you in for Mike’s nearest day off, in this case the rate of the session will be €1800,-

Note these prices are actual, and may change any moment.

Payment and Deposits:

Payment for tattoo sessions are due immediately at the end of each session. We accept cash and bank transfer, if you are able to make the bank transfer by mobile device in the studio. Cash is preferred.

A deposit is necessary to secure your appointment.
For standard sessions a deposit of €250 is required.
For smaller sessions a deposit of €100 is required.

Deposits are non-refundable and can be paid in cash or by bank transfer minimum 2 weeks prior to your first appointment.
The deposit serves to reserve all your booking dates and will be applied to the final tattoo session if the project requires multiple sessions. If it’s a single session, it will be applied to that.

If you need to change the date of your appointment due to unforeseen circumstances, you must let us know at least 7 days prior to the session so we can rearrange our schedules. If you cancel or reschedule with less than 7 days notice, you will lose your deposit, and a new deposit will be required to make a new appointment. Don’t waste your deposit, reschedule on time if necessary.

Health Concerns and Conditions:
If you have any health problems, conditions or allergies, please let us know in advance.
If you feel ill, have a fever, or have symptoms of the flu, please get in touch and reschedule your appointment.

Closing Statement:

In paying your deposit, you agree to the entire policy above, and agree that the deposit cannot be refunded for any reason whatsoever.

It is essential that you include a detailed description of your idea, reference pictures, and a photo of the location on your body that you want to get tattooed. If you do not include this, we can’t take your project in consideration.
